Today Akhil is celebrating the 8th anniversary to his 29th birthday! Yes it is his birthday today! Yes, he is 29 again…Yeahhh! He was very excited for his birthday gift this year. For some odd reason he thought he was getting Browns / Steelers tickets. Rachu and I were talking one day about a great sale at BCBG which was COMPLETELY unrelated to his birthday and he decided to butt in on our conversation and thought he somehow heard Akhil is getting Browns / Steelers tickets for his birthday. I don’t know how he perceived that dialogue to be about sports, but somehow he managed. Well this past Sunday, he mentioned again that he can’t wait to get his gift because it’s so hard to Browns / Steelers tickets, now that they are good. I tried to tell him that he is not getting that for his birthday but he would not believe me. Then he says Oh well the Home Opener would be awesome too…maybe that’s what I getting. Uhhhh Noooo!
So last week I actually did attempt to get him tickets for the game. I thought it would be fun to go with Shreem and Praful since Praful is a die hard Steelers fan (not sure why, he only went to school there?). But since the game is on a Sunday night, it would mess up their Monday morning to go back to DC and to work. Akhil also then began talking with friends to go to California to the OSU game there which is the same weekend as Browns / Steelers. So then I just nixed the whole idea because I had no idea what he was planning on doing. So then I thought I should just get him something he won’t buy himself- CLOTHES! He always just buys football tickets himself, so this gift is so muuuuch better than football tickets! He doesn’t like that I try to make him all metrosexual!!! Hehe! I am very proud of my birthday purchases for my hubby!
I gave him his gifts this morning and by golly Akhil was being a
birthday brat! He said he likes sports not clothes. : ( Hahahaha. As if I didn’t know that! The nice wife that I am kindly incorporated a
Browns AND
Indians t-shirts in his pile of metroclothes.
Here is my disappointed husband opening up his boring birthday clothes

So then I left for work and I was driving down the street and I look in my rearview mirror and there is Akhil wearing flip flops waving his hands above his head, chasing me down the street! Of course I started to laugh and so I stopped, he uncoordinatedly ran (wearing flip flops with socks is indeed hard to run in) to my car window and kindly apologized for dissing his new clothes and for being a birthday brat! Haha! I told him, its okay…I totally made fun of my birthday gift that he got me this past year! I still sometimes think about the gift and laugh my butt off!
