Back from Argentina!

We came back today from our vacation in Argentina! We had absolutely an incredible time! The mountain region is so beautiful and extremely peaceful. There is so much to see in the Patagonia region of Argentina, we wish we had more time to see more of the region. We stayed for half of our trip in Bariloche which is remotely located in the middle of the Andes Mountains and the other half in Buenos Aires. It was definitely a different experience and such a wonderful transition before we move into our new house!

Argentina Here We Come!

Today we are leaving for our vacation to ARGENTINA! We are really excited to go to South America! Everyone keeps asking us why we choose to go to Argentina. Well we wanted to go somewhere warm so we were originally thinking of going to the Caribbean for our vacation and then it just evolved into somewhere in South America . Since we have such a passion to travel, I thought we should take a site seeing vacation instead of a beach trip. After some research I narrowed our choices down to Chile, Peru, or Argentina. I finally chose Argentina because it is supposed to be absolutely gorgeous and scenic with the Andes Mountains . I will send you all pictures when we return!!! Hasta luego!

The Lighting is Up!

The light fixtures started going up last week. It really makes the house look awesome! Last night we went there at night and turned on all the lights! Yay...we were excited! I won't bore you will all the light fixtures and so here are some of them...

Kitchen: As soon as I saw these, I loved them! I had my heart set on these for months until it came time to order them. My lighting lady, Karen knew how much I loved them and broke me the news that the manufacturer decdied to discontinue the light fixture. She said that she contacted other stores and no one has it in stock. I was soo sad! I started looking for other lights and did not find anything I really liked. So then I decided to do my own nationwide hunt for these light fixtures. For about a month I cold called Lighting stores all over. After several false promises from many stores throughout the country, I finally got this from a store in Texas! It was actually $10 cheaper than what Karen was charging me! I was sooo happy that I found it!!!

Dining Room. I decided to have two chandeliers will lay on both sides of the dining table. I thought that would be different than having one in the center.

Your Vote Results!

So for the 12 of you that voted...the Burnt Orange won (9 to 3). So as promised I changed the color of our living room. I still like the Tiffany Blue better but oh well. The orange does match much better with the color scheme of the house.

Family Room

The past 2 weeks they have been painting the final coat on the walls. Before, many of the rooms with dark colors had only primer. Here is the family room which they just finished. I was very excited how the color combinations turned out! When I picked all these things out it was so hard to envision how it would look and now its coming together and I love it!!!

Looking into the family room from the kitchen. I decided to accent the arch so it stands out. I did the brown to keep it toned down. Of course I would have loved to use some crazy color but I knew I would be the only one that would like it! Also way back there is the entertainment center they are building. I think its almost done. They are waiting for the doors to get deliver to install on it.

It was my dad's idea to do this little painting nook above the fireplace. It really looks awesome! Currently, we don’t have a painting and we need to find something that fits that size. And also the painters wanted to know what color to paint it. Since I don’t have a painting I had no idea but I had a choice to either leave it white or get it painted now with some random color so I choose to do it red. We are on a mission to find a picture to put in there. If you have any suggestions bring it my way!

Wicked!

This weekend Akhil and I went to see the play Wicked. Akhil was not so pleased to go but since I went to the Cavs game with him on Tuesday, he knew he couldn’t kick and scream too much! Since plays do not consist of a competition, two teams, and a ball he was pretty restless! Twenty minutes into the show, he leaned over and asked me when is halftime…I was like uhhh you mean intermission? Here is a synopsis of the play and if you haven’t see it, you should try to!

FOB Update

I email the FOB the pictures that I took of him and his friends as he requested. I also asked if the sofa ended up on the side of the highway. He said that he did get the sofa home safely but it was a huge adventure getting it there! HA! He also said his wife liked the pictures I sent of them. :o) We are glad no one was hurt and the car did not flip over!

How many FOBS does it take to lift a sofa?

So we have a lot of extra furniture in our house from my old apartment and Akhil's old apartment from before we got married. I have been feverishly selling this stuff on Craigslist recently. Well Akhil was resisting to allow me to sell his bachlorpad black leather sofa. I didn't care for it so I posted it on Craigslist. Funny there were only FOBS (fresh off the boat) interested in the sofa. So yesterday 2 skinny FOBS showed up to buy the sofa and I took one look at them and knew it was going to be trouble. They had tons of trouble lifting it. I was laughing hysterically!!! So they said they will come back Sunday (today) with more friends. There were 4 skinny FOBS at my door today! So I had to take pictures of this because I could not stop laughing. They asked if they were going to be in the newspaper since I was taking pictures of them! Haha! The one requested that I email him pictures so he can show his wife.

Taking a break

I was watching them out my window after they went outside...and the sofa barely fits in this small Acura Integra. I told him yesterday to rent a van but he said it would fit. They were out there for a longtime trying to shove this big sofa into a little car! 1) I am wondering if I will see Akhil's sofa on the side of the highway tomorrow morning! (Akhil will be mad!) 2) I am wondering how all 4 of them fit in this car going home!

The Stairs are Finished!

Here are few pictures I took today of the stairs. The painters were just finishing the stainwork on it. It turned out alot more beautiful than I imagined!!!
