Christmas Morning

Santa came into our house so quietly and laid out all the gifts for Arya and Amiya under the tree. I was very excited to see their reaction when they came downstairs to their gifts and toys. Akhil brought them downstairs and I was standing by the tree. They didn't notice anything but me and were so happy to see me! They both kept screaming "mom-may, mom-may"!

Also you will notice that the ornaments are all on the top half of the tree. Yeah my girls had to grab every low hanging ornament and use it as a ball.

Sure soon enough they noticed their toys and the gifts. Arya began to play with the kitchen set and to shake up the boxes immediately.
Gift opening took FOREVER because with every single gift they opened, they need to play with the toy right away. Children's toys are so hard to get out of the box, so it took forever!
The girls love their new baby dolls

Since gift opening took forever, the girls began to get hungry and wanted to eat breakfast. So we all ate breakfast and the girls changed their clothes.
Apologies that I look like I am 250 lbs...I like baggy house clothes...they are comfy!
What a good momma to her baby doll..maybe they will learn to drink their milk faster with the baby doll and disappearing milk bottle!
Story time...Akhil is reading the book he got about beers and Amiya is learning her alphabet.
Arya is still tearing open gifts while the others read!
Hopefully this kitchen will teach them a thing or two about cooking so I can be pampered once in a while!
This Christmas was so much fun! We really had a great time with Arya and Amiya. It was so fun to see them so excited about all their gifts!

18 Months Has Come So Fast!

Arya and Amiya are 18 months old now! Wow! When they were babies people would tell us to enjoy every moment because time flies by so quickly and now I agree that it sure does! They both are really playing a lot together now which makes it easier for me. But every now and again they come to me for hug and a kiss which I sure love and can’t get enough of! They are talking quite a bit now which is so amazing. They understand everything we say to them which really works well when I need to bribe them to do something (like sit in the stroller)!

In the morning or after a nap Amiya will put her index finger to her mouth and say “shhhh” and then point to Arya’s room. She wants to make sure we don't wake up her sissy! Sometimes she tells me her stuffed animals are sleeping and that I need to whisper. She will say "shhhh", "lalala", and then she will proceed to say the stuffed animal's name. :)

Arya is still so cuddly and gives endless hugs to Amiya. Amiya still isn’t so much of a cuddler so she gets very annoyed by the multiple hugs she receives from Arya. If I ask Amiya for a hug, she will say No. So then I ask Arya for a hug, then in moments notice without fail, Amiya will come running so fast to me to give me a hug before Arya does! That is usually the way I get voluntary hug from Amiya.

I am so glad the first year is over. Now I feel like we have freedom and we can go places. It is so nice not to be feeding them a bottle every 3 hours.

Arya and Amiya are just so much fun and just continue to amaze me every single day! I can't imagine what they will be like 18 months from now!

December Indoor Fun!

Here are some pictures to show you what we have been up the past couple of weeks

Sometimes you just gotta cry!

Amiya wiping her nose! They are no longer fighting us with that!

One morning I told the girls that my parents are coming over. They got so excited and sat by the door and waited for them to come! It was so cute!

Amiya was so excited when she woke up in the morning and saw the our tree that I put up the night before! What a cute expression she has.

Arya always carries around these puzzle pieces in this basket.

She is very protective over the basket and puzzle pieces.

Amiya was so excited over the ornaments in the window at Sephora

One day we were snowed in the house and couldn't leave. I had to get creative with the girls so I took the sofa cushion for the girls to jump on...boy was this endless fun!

Arya said she was "all done" with her breakfast so I let her out of her seat but then she goes to Amiya's chair and eats her grapes and kashi cereal!

Since we put up the Christmas tree, Arya loves to stand behind it and watch the snow fall out the window. She sometimes says "wow snow!"

Morning milk and a good read - 123 California...

they love this book that their Masi bought them!

Vacation in the Bahamas!

Last week we went to the Bahamas for our first family vacation! We stayed at the kid friendly Atlantis resort which was really nice and also HUGE! I knew it was a big place but did not anticipate how huge this resort is. I think there were probably about 15 pools there! It was not to crowded there so that was nice for us. We had no problem getting chairs by the pool or dinner reservations. I was quite bummed that it was not super hot there though. The average temperature in December is about 85 and it was 75 while we were there. Boo!

After dinner the first night, Arya and Amiya saw this blue light on the ground and got so excited. We stopped so they could jump on the light. We spent about 15 minutes in this spot and then we heard someone across the way scream Akhil's name. Turns out one of Akhil's friends that he hasn't seen or talk to in a few years was visiting the resort. We then had dinner with them the next two nights which was fun!

We went to eat breakfast at the same buffet everyday and the girls made a mess of their Christmas trees and more so of the floor. I think the employees there were glad to say goodbye to us when we left because Arya and Amiya took full advantage of food throwing challenges.

We stayed on the 12 floor of one of the hotels and so we had the most amazing view of the ocean.
On Tuesday, it was too cold to hangout by the pool so we spent the day indoors at the aquarium. The resort has an amazing aquarium of all sorts of sealife. The girls loved it!
Just a bit bug eyed!

Early in the morning after breakfast we would go to the beach and play in the sand. The girls were so scared of the sand the first time they walked in it but then they just loved it so much!

Amiya would take the sand in her hand and say "woooooow"...it was so cute!

We were walking to get dinner and walked past the pool. Amiya insisted on splashing around in the pool with her clothes on. Needless to say she needed another bath and clothing change because she was soaked!
Both girls loved loved loved the pool. I thought for sure Arya would be terrifed since she has a cautious nature but she loved it and did not want to get out!
The windows in our room were floor to ceiling so the girls loved looking at the ocean. They would look out the window and point to the ocean and say "OOOOOOcean"
Say Cheese!
Our vacation was a ton of fun! I thought it could be hard with the both of them but they were sooo good. They were so excited to be there! We stuck to their eating and sleeping schedule so they were happy campers with no meltdowns!

Party Time

Children's Christmas Party

Cleveland Clinic had their Children's Christmas Party this past weekend. I always heard how amazing and fun it is but never had gone to it. Last year Arya and Amiya were only 6 months old and so we didn't go. I didn't see a point taking them when they wouldn't be excited about it. As soon as we arrive the girls were so excited! Amiya was running around like crazy and was so hard to keep track of!

The theme was Disney Holiday and so the hospital was decked out with the Disney theme. Now I feel no need to go to Disney World!

Here Arya and Amiya are playing with the decorations which the police officer rudly yelled at them several times to stop. She didn't yell at me, she screamed at my one year olds. I was so annoyed!

Amiya pinched every Micky Mouse nose that she possibly could!

There was a really fun bubble lady there and Amiya kept running up to her while she was doing her show. Amiya wanted to hop into the bubbles. So below is the bubble lady and Amiya running to her!

Simba from Lion King with Arya and Amiya

Birthday Party @ Jumpyard

Later that day we had a friend's birthday party to go to at Jumpyard. This was our first time there and boy did the girls have a blast! Arya cried and screamed her lungs out when it was time to go. We stayed until the place closed because she refused to leave and she was still mad about leaving!

My cuties!

Amiya had fun in the bounce houses. They made me sick to be in but both girls would not exit them!

Happy Arya!

The best picture we could get of me with my little girls!

I can't believe how big my little girls are. They are no longer tiny babies!
