Winter Photos

With all this snow we have gotten this winter, I thought that I better get some nice pictures with Arya and Amiya outside. After our big "heat wave" of course we got an ice storm which looked beautiful outside. Ice was hanging off of all the trees branches which just glistened in the sunlight. So out we went to snap a few pictures and luckily I got a few good ones! (mind you these photo shoots can last no more than 10 minutes before they begin scream no more mommy!)

A Thaw

Man has this winter been brutal! Finally we got a thaw out from the snow which felt like such a heat wave. Arya and Amiya went wild crazy running around outside. I think they forgot what it is like to be outside since we all have been sequestered all winter long.

Playing in the Snow

Akhil had been bugging me for the past few months to buy the girls snow pants. I kept dragging my feet about it because I didn't want to spend the money on TWO snowpants (which are not cheap) that they would only wear once or twice. Finally after his persistance I bought the snowpants. So a couple of weeks ago we took Arya and Amiya out to play in the snow and they LOVED it.

I was dreading getting them dressed in their snow gear. They NEVER wear their hat or gloves but for some reason when I said they are going to go play in the snow and I showed them all the layers of clothes they have to wear, both girls were all about it!

We went outside (it was a COLD day - 17 degrees) and they LOVED it. Both Arya and Amiya kicked and screamed when it was time to go inside! I am talking FULL OUT MELTDOWN in the snow.

They don't look so happy here but I promise you they were!

Valentines Day Scavenger Hunt

On Sunday, for Valentines Day I had a little scavenger hunt for the girls. I set up little plastic hearts all around the house with clues in them. They were so excited and really got into the hunt of finding the hearts!

Amiya carried around this purse to safely put all the clues, hearts, and stickers in it. She kept very close track of all her items throughout the scavenger hunt!

I wish I took a picture of the aftermath of tearing through their bag of Valentines Day gifts! Amiya put stickers all over herself. It was so funny and cute. Arya spent the rest of the evening sorting her new crayons from one box to the next box!

Now when I tell the girls to go sit together and smile so I can take a picture, they actually do! For quite sometime I wasn't able to get a picture of them together but finally now I can!

Sometimes you just have to scream!

Arya and Amiya definitely love each other but when it comes to toys they do have full drag out screaming matches! I try to let them work it out themselves instead of me being the referee all the time but at times I do have to step in when it gets out of hand.
