Separation :(

Arya & Amiya have been sleeping in the same bassinet since they came home. They love to stare at each other when they are awake! It is so adorable. They get really fascinated with one another. Most of the time Arya is adoring Amiya. :) Well lately they have been scootching close to each other so we decided last week to move them both to the crib to give them more space. I thought they would be fine in the crib together but when I went to check on them they both moved so close to one another it was so cute! I had put them far apart and here they are ready to cuddle!

So now they have been separated into their own cribs because I am afraid they will roll onto one another

1 Month Old!

Today my little girlies are a month old now! Wow! Time really flies fast! I can't believe how much they both have grown since they have been born. Arya is our little eater and wants to down all the milk right away. Amiya is our little dainty tough girl. She really is a strong girl who doesn't complain at all. She is so easy going!

The past month hasn't been so bad. I have so much help, it makes my life so much easier handling two babies. :)

I found these cute little onesies that I just had to get!

Masi & Masa Finally Visit!

My sister and brother in law, Rachna and Arun left on Sunday. Our house is super quite without them! It was so nice to have them around to get to know Arya and Amiya. They helped out so much around the house and with the girls which was soo nice! They also cooked awesome meals for us which were super yummy! :)

Little Lady Bugs

Here are some pictures that I took last week. This week Arya and Amiya are having a fun time with my sister and brother in law, Rachna Masi and Arun Masa. We are being spoiled by their awesome cooking which I am loving! Akhil went back to work this week so my parents are staying with us again! :)

During my pregnancy Akhil had gotten pretty good using my camera. Since I had him take weekly belly shots he learned how to take pictures. This is one of my favorites with Arya that he took!

Arya Ilena and Amiya Esha

Many of you have been asking the meaning of our daughter’s names. Akhil is actually more into the Hindi meaning than I am. It was important to him that we choose a name with something meaningful to us. I just wanted a name that I liked!

The Meanings

Arya Ilena
Arya
(AH-ree-yah) means noble, great, and truthful. I really liked this name when I came across it and it was my first choice on my list of favorite names. So when we found out we were having a girl, the same day we decided Arya would be one of our daughter’s names.

Ilena (Il-lee-na) means woman of high intelligence.

Arya was Baby A

Amiya Esha
Amiya
(Ah-MEE-ah) means full of tenderness and friendly. So Akhil came across this name and we instantly loved it and so this was the second name that was chosen for our daughter.

Esha (Ee-sha) means pleasure

Amiya was Baby B

We didn’t intend on both our girls having their names beginning with an A. It just happened that the names we really loved began with the same letter! We looked and looked for other names beginning with different letters but we just kept coming back to the Arya and Amiya. So then their names were decided and we ended our long discussion of names!

Delivery.

Many of you have called and emailed asking about my delivery of Arya and Amiya. Well for those of you who have asked and I did not have a chance to answer you question...I had the best of both worlds!

Arya was born vaginally which was the best experience of my life! It was soo amazing! And Amiya was a emergency crash c-section. I was put under and knocked out for Amiya's birth so I did not experience her coming out so I can't speak about that. I can tell you the recovery from a vaginal delivery is faaaar better than a c-section. But a c-section is not the end of the world!

Happily holding Amiya & Arya in my arms. I am getting good with running up and down the stairs with the both of them in my arms!

Going for a stroll through the neighborhood. I am holding Arya and Akhil is holding Amiya

Arya got excited to see me the other day and so she put her hands in my mouth! She has never even grabbed an object yet and so it was amazing that my 9 day old daughter grabbed my face as her first object! :)

Here is a picture of me on Father's Day which was the day before I was induced. I look at this picture and can't believe I was that HUGE only 2 weeks ago! WOW! I still can't believe how my two little girls managed to fit inside me!

Just Hatched!

This week Akhil is off so it is nice to have him home with Arya and Amiya. My mom went back to work for the week since Akhil is home. My parents will be back this weekend and will continue to stay with us to give me a hand! I can't wait! :)

Home Sweet Home!

So we have been home for nearly 2 weeks now. Wow! Time flies so quickly! The girls are so easy to take care of and things haven't been crazy as I thought it would be. My babies are soo good so it is easy to take care of them! I am having such a great time and love every minute that I spend with them!

I take a million pictures everyday because they change so much. Sorry if I bombard you!

Here are some pictures of us when we came home from the hospital.
