Vacation in the Bahamas!

Last week we went to the Bahamas for our first family vacation! We stayed at the kid friendly Atlantis resort which was really nice and also HUGE! I knew it was a big place but did not anticipate how huge this resort is. I think there were probably about 15 pools there! It was not to crowded there so that was nice for us. We had no problem getting chairs by the pool or dinner reservations. I was quite bummed that it was not super hot there though. The average temperature in December is about 85 and it was 75 while we were there. Boo!

After dinner the first night, Arya and Amiya saw this blue light on the ground and got so excited. We stopped so they could jump on the light. We spent about 15 minutes in this spot and then we heard someone across the way scream Akhil's name. Turns out one of Akhil's friends that he hasn't seen or talk to in a few years was visiting the resort. We then had dinner with them the next two nights which was fun!

We went to eat breakfast at the same buffet everyday and the girls made a mess of their Christmas trees and more so of the floor. I think the employees there were glad to say goodbye to us when we left because Arya and Amiya took full advantage of food throwing challenges.

We stayed on the 12 floor of one of the hotels and so we had the most amazing view of the ocean.
On Tuesday, it was too cold to hangout by the pool so we spent the day indoors at the aquarium. The resort has an amazing aquarium of all sorts of sealife. The girls loved it!
Just a bit bug eyed!

Early in the morning after breakfast we would go to the beach and play in the sand. The girls were so scared of the sand the first time they walked in it but then they just loved it so much!

Amiya would take the sand in her hand and say "woooooow"...it was so cute!

We were walking to get dinner and walked past the pool. Amiya insisted on splashing around in the pool with her clothes on. Needless to say she needed another bath and clothing change because she was soaked!
Both girls loved loved loved the pool. I thought for sure Arya would be terrifed since she has a cautious nature but she loved it and did not want to get out!
The windows in our room were floor to ceiling so the girls loved looking at the ocean. They would look out the window and point to the ocean and say "OOOOOOcean"
Say Cheese!
Our vacation was a ton of fun! I thought it could be hard with the both of them but they were sooo good. They were so excited to be there! We stuck to their eating and sleeping schedule so they were happy campers with no meltdowns!
