I Taught 4th Grade! Yikes!

Today I taught a 4th grade inner city Cleveland school. The program was offered through Junior Achievements whom asked for volunteers at from Cleveland Clinic. There probably were about a dozen people who decided to see what it is like to be a teacher for a day and I was a lucky one who wanted to check it out too! Boy was it an experience! The kids didn’t listen as I taught…they were completely distracted with each other and their erasers which I gave them. I was screaming over them the entire time. The teacher tried to get some conduct in the classroom but since I was new person they didn’t really care. I guess this school doesn’t have subs because one of the other 4th grade teachers was sick and so they split some of her kids into my room. I thought that was weird but oh well.

Now each summer I am not going to wish that I was a teacher…it is a really hard job and sitting in my office everyday and dealing with adults is 500 times easier and less exhausting!

Here are some of the rascals that were in my class...

Thugs in training...

The one rugrat already looks like a brotha!
